Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to the Indonesian Journal of Fish Processing Technology (IJFPT) undergo a rigorous and transparent peer-review process to ensure scientific quality, originality, and relevance to the journal’s focus and scope.
The peer-review process is conducted as follows:

Initial Screening
The Editor-in-Chief or Section Editor conducts an initial evaluation to assess the manuscript’s suitability with the journal’s aims, scope, formatting guidelines, and ethical standards. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected without external review. -
Plagiarism Check
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are subjected to a plagiarism check using appropriate plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with unacceptable similarity levels will be returned to the authors or rejected. -
Peer Review
Eligible manuscripts are reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise. IJFPT applies a double-blind peer review system, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process. -
Review Decision
Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editor will make one of the following decisions:-
Accept submission

Accept with minor revisions

Accept with major revisions

Reject submission

Revision and Resubmission
Authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to the reviewers’ comments and submit a revised version within the specified time frame. Revised manuscripts may be returned to reviewers for further evaluation if necessary. -
Final Decision and Publication
The final decision regarding acceptance is made by the Editor-in-Chief. Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, layout, and publication stages.
